Requirements are Additional Function names that are required by either a component electrical object or an entire project.
You can apply requirements to electrical objects using the Protocol, Measurements and Additional Function (PMA) dialog in the Component Library Editor.
Click for more information on the PMA DialogIf the electrical object that has the requirement(s) isn't connected to another electrical object that supplies that requirement then an error is flagged in the Schematic Report and also in the component heads-up display.
In the example below, the Netcom Modem requires a SIM which is disconnected.
Requirements and Measurements can also be applied to schematic sheets.
This enables Project-level Requirements to be assigned and checked.
Using the Requirements Menu you can add / remove requirements from any schematic sheet.
You can Load and Save groups of requirements using the Requirement Groups menu option.
Hovering over a requirements group will display the individual requirements that belong to that group.
You can create your own requirement groups and name them according to their function.
You can add / remove requirements from any schematic sheet using the Global Requirements menu option.
The same is true for Measurements which can also be applied to schematic sheets.
This enables measurements to be added as a project-level requirement which can be checked by the report dialog.
You can select the measurement category, type of measurement and units of measure.
Measurement groups can be loaded
Hovering over a measurement group will display the individual measurements that belong to that group.
You can create your own measurement groups and name them accordingly.
Global measurements can be viewed in all schematic sheets and edited using the Global Measurement menu option.
